Body in Balance

Policies and Procedures

It is my intention to provide clients with a professional, and relaxing environment that can support healing and wellness. I am committed to providing a great customized, therapeutic experience for each client, meaning not all treatments are the same. I have adopted the following policies and procedures to serve as a guide to first-time and repeat clients.

Scope of Practice

Massage therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. Licensed Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. Services are not intended as an alternative to proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any specific medical condition which requires medical treatment. If you have recently had any disease, surgery, or injury, documentation from your medical doctor may be needed, and shown, to the therapist in order for services to be provided.

Cancellation Policy

I value your business and ask that you respect my business scheduling policies. I run a busy practice, often with a long waiting list.  Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance in the event you would need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows me time to contact others who are, most likely, in pain and patiently waiting for an appointment to open up. Cancelations with less than a 24 hour notice or a no call no show, will be subject to the FULL amount of any scheduled service for that day. Thank you in advance for being considerate and understanding.

Respect For Needs & Boundaries

I am happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, or work longer in an area or move on by request. The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, or stop the massage at any time. The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. Sexual interaction of ANY form, is never appropriate. Suggestive comments, sexual innuednoes, or touching of the massage therapist in an inappropriate way, will not be tolerated, and will result in termination of the session. The full service fee will be charged.

Confidentiality

Given the confidential nature of the professional relationship with clients, and the respect to each client’s right to privacy, all clients visits and records will be kept confidential. As such, your visit will only be discussed with your written permission.
